Update Sold

16" X 20"
Stretched canvas oil painting

A commission painting.
Just love the beauty of a horse. I once lived on a big farm when I was a little girl. Fell in love with these awesome animals for life.

Here is a little background on a paint horse:
The American Paint Horse is a breed of horsethat combines both the conformational characteristics of a western stock horse with a pinto spotting pattern of white and darkcoat colors. Developed from a base of spotted horses with Quarter Horse andThoroughbred bloodlines, the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) breed registry is now one of the fastest-growing in North America. The registry allows some non-spotted animals to be registered as "Solid Paint Bred" and considers the American Paint Horse to be a horse breed with distinct characteristics, not merely a color breed.

"Mama and Cub"

This is by far an exciting painting for me to have worked on. Black bears is a native here in our smoky mountains. One of my favorite wildlife animals to paint. Often you could be one of the lucky ones to see one up close, a beauty like this mama and baby cub. I love this setting of them wading in a stream catching lunch, with the beautiful Great Smoky Mountain's as a back ground setting. The painting is placed in the late evening, on a cloudy day.
If you ever get a chance to visit the Smoky Mountains, be sure to take a

trip to Caves Coves over in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and see for youself, the beauty that awaits you...

The painting is on a gallery wrap canvas
